Today, the General Secretariat branch of the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in the Sana’a Governorate, in cooperation and coordination with theYGUSSWP, has carried out a preliminary assessment of the damage caused by rain and torrential rain in Sanhan District.

The General Director of the General Secretariat branch in Sana’a Governorate, Abdul-Mu’in Al-Sharif, said that the initial evaluation indicates that the humanitarian situation in general in all affected neighborhoods is considered catastrophic and needs urgent and rapid interventions to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the floods that the directorate witnessed and caused great damage. Confirming in a statement to “Al-Thawra Net” that the General Secretariat branch will work to follow up on all the relevant authorities in a manner that guarantees the provision of the necessary assistance.

Al-Sharif explained that the preliminary evaluation mechanism was represented by fielding the affected areas and lanes in “Wadi Al-Ajbar – Safiya Tamish – Al-Qatinah neighborhood – Al-Batha – Al-Hathili Al-Wusta – Beit Hadhir Village – Beit Al-Jaki – and a number of other neighborhoods”, where the data of each affected and the type of damage were filled In a separate form for each family, adding that the General Secretariat branch in Sana’a governorate is currently working on preparing the initial report and sharing it with all relevant authorities in a manner that ensures the provision of a rapid response in all humanitarian aspects, stressing that the damage included all sectors of food and agriculture – shelter – health – water And sanitation – public roads. Stressing the importance of implementing appropriate and urgent interventions for directly affected families. Pointing out that the evaluation process will continue during the next two days, in cooperation and coordination with all relevant authorities, in a manner that guarantees access to all affected areas within the framework of Sanhan and Bani Bahloul district and covers all humanitarian sectors.
