About the project:
The idea of this project is to response to psychosocial support needs and prevent children from psychological disorder through the recreational and capacity building activities of CFSs which will help children and their communities to cope and improve as much as possible the psychosocial wellbeing of their children and increase their abilities/silks in identifying protection risks that children are most likely exposed to in emergencies situations such as (GBV, grave violations, risks of mines & UXOs …etc. ) and how to response.
The project aims to contribute in creating a protected environment where communities and children are more capable to protect their children from risks of abuse, violence, neglect, and exploitations caused by emergencies situation including dynamics of displacement collapse of protection systems change in roles within families/communities and absence/less observation.
The CFS’ activities aim to improve the psychosocial wellbeing of children by encouraging them to express their fears concerns and hopes and return to normality as much as possible through back to routine lifestyle where children have times to play, enjoy interacting with peers and some time for non-formal education and awareness-raising on child protection issues, in participatory manner that ensures active participation of children and their communities in planning and managing the CFSs
The project will include the capacity building of the targeted communities ”volunteers and caregivers and parents” on child protection issues and risks, through rehabilitation courses and community awareness sessions about how to deal with child protection risks, and how to response including seeking for support. Also, the project will cover mapping of services, developing of a referral system to enhance access to services, and will establish community-based protection committees to raise the community awareness on child protection issues and promote the community mobilization to advocate for child rights

from August – October (three months).

The Overall Objective:

Specific Objectives:
1. Provide psycho-social support for children via CFSs activities such as recreational, art, non-formal education, and awareness of child protection issues.
2. Ensure the community engagement in responding to CPiE by Building the capacity of local communities and enable them to patriciate actively in response
3. Initiate case management system by conducting mapping exercise and developing referral pathways.
Activities:
1. Establish four child-friendly safe spaces in the most conflict-affected areas in Sanaa governorate.
2. Provide psycho-social support for children via CFSs activities such as recreational, art, non-formal education, and awareness on child protection issues.
3. Conduct awareness sessions for the local community ”parents, community leaders and CBOs on child protection issues.
4. Develop Community based child protection committees’ ToR, code of conduct & criteria of Membership.
5. Selection of Child protection community-based committee’s members and assign tasks and responsibilities.
6. Conducting regular meeting to discuss the monthly work plan
7. Training committees members on CPiE and on (community mobilization, Advocating on child rights, identification, and monitoring of child rights violations)
8. Reporting and monitoring of child rights violations
9. Conduct mapping for services providers sounding the CFS and print Mapping booklet for each CFS
10. Develop a referral pathway in each CFS based on the finding of service mapping activity.
11. Identify 20 vulnerable cases and provide counseling and referral support.
Outputs (result):
1. Four child friendly spaces are established and functioning in the 4 targeted districts, mainly on, ( Hamdan – Arahp – Bani Hashish- Nehm).
2. 450 Children (220 girls, 230 boys) received Psychosocial support and awareness sessions on child protection issues via the CFSs activities
3. Awareness of 400 parents, community leaders, and CBOs members been increased on child protection issues
4. 4 community-based protection committees established and conducting a regular meeting.
5. Mapping of services providers been conducted and report shared
6. Referral system has been developed and used by CFSs and social workers teams
7. 20 vulnerable children been identified and supported through the referral system.
Outcomes:
1. Provide psycho-social support for children via CFSs activities such as recreational, art, non-formal education, and awareness of child protection issues.
2. Increase of local communities capacity in responding to child protection issues in emergencies
3. Referral system developed and used including supporting of vulnerable case.
