With generous support from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (#YHF_Yemen),
#YGUSSWP has completed the disbursement of cash assistance to displaced
households benefiting from the Cash for Shelter Maintenance and Upgrade
activity. The second instalment, equivalent to 30% of the total assistance, was
transferred to 163 displaced households as the first group of beneficiaries out
of the 400 households targeted in Kushar District, Hajjah Governorate.
Each household received USD $72, equivalent to YER 37,800,
based on the exchange rate approved on the day of disbursement, following the
completion of the required shelter maintenance and upgrading works identified
under the first phase.
Accordingly, the total assistance provided to each household reached USD
$240, disbursed in two instalments: 70% in the first phase,
amounting to USD $168, and 30% in the second phase, amounting to
USD $72.
This assistance supports households in completing priority shelter works
and addressing needs related to shelter safety and adequacy, helping to provide
a safer and more dignified living environment for family members. Project
activities are continuing to support the remaining households within the
overall target of 400 households, in accordance with the implementation
plan and activity requirements.
