As part of ongoing efforts to provide emergency shelter for displaced households and improve their living conditions, and with generous support from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (#YHF_Yemen), #YGUSSWP implemented the first phase of the Cash for the Purchase and Installation of Emergency Shelter Materials (ESKs) activity, targeting the remaining 37 displaced households out of the total target of 200 households in Kushar District, Hajjah Governorate. This follows the first group of 163 households, completing the targeting of all 200 households under this phase.
Each beneficiary household received USD 301, equivalent to YER
158,025, based on the exchange rate applied on the day of transfer. The
assistance is intended to cover the purchase and installation of emergency
shelter materials in accordance with the bill of quantities and specifications
established for each beneficiary and the instructions of the supervising
engineer.
The total cash assistance disbursed to the 37 households in this
round amounted to USD 11,137, equivalent to YER 5,846,925. This
assistance represents 70% of the total allocation of USD 430 per household.
The remaining 30%, equivalent to USD 129 per household, will be
disbursed once the requirements for completing the purchase and installation
works under the first phase (70%) have been met, in accordance with the
approved procedures.
This intervention helps displaced households obtain emergency shelter
that meets their needs, enhances their protection from weather conditions,
safeguards their privacy, and provides a safer and more suitable living
environment for their families amid the difficult conditions of displacement.
This intervention is part of the project:
