As
part of the CCCM activities within the project: " Improve the living
conditions and protection of the most acutely vulnerable IDPs through the
provision of CCCM services in 22 IDPs sites at Hajjah gov (Ku'aydinah -
Mustaba) Al Hodeidah gov (Al-Qanawis and Az Zaydiah)," YGUSSWP implemented
a project, with generous funding from YHF, to distribute and install two
maintenance boxes in the IDPs sites of Al-Khalil Al-Sharqi in Al-Qanawis
district - Al Hudaydah and Al-Mawfir in Mustaba district - Hajjah. Each box
contains three main activities, including training community committees on
maintenance and plumbing, training committees on first aid with cash-for-work
approach for 15 individuals, and conducting a cleanliness campaign in the camp.
YGUSSWP
also conducted two cleanliness campaigns in Al-Khalil Al-Sharqi site, and
Al-Mawfir site. The campaigns included cleaning and disinfection operations,
benefiting 30 individuals. The implementation of these campaigns contributed to
improving cleanliness and health in the sites, enhancing community spirit,
providing employment opportunities and economic empowerment, improving the
overall appearance of the sites, and increasing environmental awareness.
Furthermore,
YGUSSWP implemented two training courses for the community committees in
Al-Khalil Al-Sharqi site (Al-Qanawis) and in Al-Mawfir site (Mustaba). The
courses focused on training the committees in first aid, maintenance tools, and
site safety. These trainings have helped enhance the committees' capacities to
handle health emergencies and maintain the well-being of the IDPs, thus
contributing to protecting their lives and improving living conditions in the
sites.
