YGUSSWP's rapid humanitarian response efforts in the wake of the devastating fire at Al-Azraqain IDP site in Hamdan district of Sana'a governorate have been successfully completed. The diligent and continuous work of YGUSSWP team enabled them to swiftly provide assistance throughout the crisis. YGUSSWP actively collaborated with the relevant authorities to combat and extinguish the fire. Cleaning was also carried out by removing fire debris, organizing the site, and setting up emergency tents. Moreover, YGUSSWP distributed essential NFIs to those affected.

Recognizing the importance of a multidimensional response, YGUSSWP-NRC's CCCM team conducted fire prevention awareness sessions at the site and promptly referred cases to the RRM team for further assistance; providing psychological and social support to affected individuals, particularly children, by providing support sessions and engaging them in recreational activities. Furthermore, YGUSSWP offered legal services to help those affected in replacing damaged personal identification documents resulting from the fire.

This comprehensive and coordinated approach played a pivotal role in restoring a sense of normalcy for the affected families. The efforts of the YGUSSWP teams during this challenging period have been widely acknowledged and appreciated. The IDPs and their families now feel secure and comfortable, expressing their gratitude to the various organizations involved in the response efforts foremost among them to YHF, UNHCR, Shelter Cluster, CCCM Cluster, NRC, and BFD, as well as the local authorities, including the Civil Defense and SCMCHA, for their unwavering support and coordination in addressing this crisis.
